Welcome to the Warriors page
The following images have been taken from the 'Warriors
Collection'. Each piece of work has been created using handmade
watercolour paper within a plaster cast mould to produce a basic
form upon which I then work.
These derive their style from the Classical Male Torso,
as portrayed in the stoic form of Ancient Greek artefacts, 'Kouroi',
(Statues of Youth), that are worked in an expressive way, by creating
polychromatic surface patinas on life-size low relief sculptures.
Acrylic paints and glue are used to create the desired
effect making each sculpture a unique and individual outcome.
The pieces are set against a complementary colour
as a background. Each is presented within a deep beech wood frame.
